Following a successful Christmas activity Tenterden
Rotary Club made donations to both the Tenterden Social Hub and the Tenterden
Community Hub. The picture shows the presentation of the cheque by club president Sarah
Williams to Spencer Goddard at the Community
Julia Bampton received the cheque on behalf of the Tenterdne Community Hub
On 28th March Peter Costain spoke to the club on
his experiences working with the family construction company in various
locations including Australia and Syria. Peter’s wealth of experience and
understanding of people made for a very interesting and entertaining talk
Come alive Saturday 6th April… two sold out shows at the Sinden
Theatre, eight groups of performers including over 200 children dancing and
singing. Around £5000 raised for charity. Well done to Hannah Carter for making
Tenterden “Come Alive” a sell-out performance for the 2nd year running.
30th May. Adrian and Debbie from Tenterden museum welcomed Tenterden
Rotarians and friends to an evening reception. One of the highlights of the
evening was the opportunity to see local Historian Jack Gillet's collection of
newspaper cuttings dating back to the beginning of the club in 1949. The
cuttings have been scanned and digitised to create an enduring record that can
be viewed by anyone visiting the museum.
As it was a pleasant evening it seemed a good idea to have a group
photograph outside by the museum entrance. Perhaps it will feature in a future
historian’s presentation in another seventy years.
